Laura’s Story

Looking back on my life, I feel very blessed to have finally crossed that point of understanding my life purpose. Many times it seemed to make no sense at all where my path took me until I could see that I had been prepared to assist other heart centered entrepreneurs how to successfully blend traditional business skills with spiritual tools and principles.

YaleMy journey took me through business school at Yale University in a place that is very strongly focused on finance and the financial markets. Initially I had little interest in this. However, I took a leadership development job that required that my first assignment be in finance. They asked me to do this ‘rotation’ so that I could round out my experience. So I stepped into that role thinking it would be a short 18-month rotation in my career. One thing led to another and I found myself deeply enmeshed in a career in finance. I discovered that I enjoyed it and was good at it.

I started in the pharmaceutical industry, moved to the biotech industry and learned financial analysis, financial modeling, budgeting and planning, finance for business development and sales and marketing, investor relations and more. I was fortunate to gather my financial experience in some of the best companies in the world. It was an incredible ride, but then there came a time when my heart was not really in my work anymore and I felt I could not go on following this career track. I had experienced an inner awakening that turned my whole life upside down. I had been struggling in my marriage, dissatisfied with my spiritual life, my kids were always saying I didn’t have enough time for them, and I was not enjoying my life at all. It felt like a weekly sprint based on urgent tasks. This was the turning point where I began to meditate and my life began to change for the better.

My heart really directed me to go back to school and continue my education in Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica. This was a unique opportunity and outstanding place to grow personally. I jumped in and discovered deep healing and growth in all areas of my life. It really helped me heal tremendously as I’d had both my father and two of my brothers die very young and I was still carrying a lot of grief around this. I needed to do my work with this grief and other painful experiences I’d had. I made tremendous changes in my personal life and relationships, gained a whole new skillset from studying Spiritual Psychology and desired to share it with others. In addition, I wanted to create a career that was in line with my life purpose and balanced in the way it operated in my life.

I thought all this would take me into a career directly into the healing arts, when I came to the clarity that I had been prepared for all these years to marry the two backgrounds that I had. Like so many other spiritually oriented entrepreneurs, I experienced many ups and downs learning to create a heart-centered, successful business. What it showed me was that I there was the opportunity to blend the spiritual tools and business skills I already had for success.

This opened up the door to help other heart-centered entrepreneurs walking the same path. I saw how I could help them heal their financial wounds, grow solid businesses, and put solid financial principles into place so that they could bring their gifts, products, and services into the world in a way that is authentic and powerful. I see it as an opportunity to help others further their dreams in a balanced, joyful and profitable way.
